Lots of trout picking small olives and midges off the surface tonight. Also had a few stoneflies landing on me .Hatches weren't that intense though very short lived but pretty frequent. Unfortunatley couldn't tempt any fish on my new rod, down to the lack of accurate fly immatations. But ah well shit happens.

Where on the Don were you fishing today? I fished at Inverurie between 11:30 and 3:30 today, didn't get alot of fish rising due to a lack of flies hatching. managed to catch 2 small troot on the march brown though.

I was fishing in kintore after school from around four to eight. Hate days when the flies are around and the fish are rising but you can't tempt anything. Trip to sloans tomorrow I think.
