Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

As predicted last week the weather has been favourable this week and good catches have been recorded. An increasing number have been landed from the dry fly, but predominantly sub surface tackle has been very rewarding, with most anglers retrieving quickly. Having said that, a good quantity of fish have still succumbed to various lures and Bloodworm derivatives fished slowly.

The best recorded catches this week have been:

 P Cowie            Fraserburgh         46 fish      Nymphs/Spiders/Buzzers
A Gibson            Gardenstown       36 fish      WSW lures
A Alexander       Turriff                   22 fish      Buzzers
J Mackay            Macduff                20 fish      Lures
Z Hall                 Macduff                16 fish      Bloodworm
N Thomson        Turriff                   14 fish      Buzzers
G Wright            Buckie                  11 fish      Damsel Nymph
I Watt               Turriff                    11 fish      Buzzers

Not to be outdone by the gents, Jocelyn Milne from Whitehills landed 12 fish on the Bloodworm on her second outing.

Hopefully this weeks weather will hold up to the current forecast and we will see increasing surface activity with the "dry fly" giving good morning and evening activity.

The fishery is now open from 8:00am til 8:00pm and bookings are not necessary. Boat hire, rod and other tackle is available for hire.
