                                         Fab Four for Stuart.
Stuart Malcolm aka John Lennon , the front man with Beatles tribute band Penny Lane was feeling glad all over ,yesterday, when after a hard days night entertaining at the Hopeville Club he bought a day ticket to fish at Lochter Fishery Oldmeldrum and landed a fab four trout all around the 3lb mark. Keen fly angler Stuart who says he will still be fishing when he`s sixty four, did have a little help from his friends in the fishermans bothy who said listen do you want to know a secret  and told him which flies to try.
The flies that have been working best during the week have been mainly black. Dave Barron had seventeen on black fritz and pennels. J Campbell netted fourteen on a black difick and D Cooper ten on various black lures. On the duller days bright flies also scored well, I Hepburn had thirteen and A Hepburn fifteen on blobs while G Watt and D McKenn landed ten and seventeen respectively using minkies. Top fisher of the week was David Pottinger down from Shetland, he bagged twenty three nice fish using mainly nymphs which he had tied himself.
The Lochter Summer League will get under way on April 17th.This year will be a pairs competition and the fabulous sum of £1000 will be up for grabs thanks to the generous sponsorship of EM Diagnostics. There will be a catch and release points format following SANA guidelines and one reserve will be allowed per pair to allow for absence.Dates are 17th April;8th May;5thJune;14thAug;11thSept;9thOct.Entries are now being accepted so anglers should contact the fishery on 01651872000 or 872787 or e-mail to info@lochter.co.uk to make sure of a place.
The prospects for this week are excellent with a mix of weather forecast anglers will have to vary their tactics to keep among the fish.
