Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

At last! What a difference a rise of a few degrees in temperature makes. Fishers emerge from hibernation and fish leave the deeper holes and spread themselves over the water. The last few days have seen a remarkable rise in fish activity on the surface and catches are being recorded in the upper water column. The variety of end tackle never ceases to amaze and with the best catches for the week we have shown the preferred lure to illustrate this point.

Top catches for the week were;

J Mackenzie             Girvan                     20 fish          orange fritz and buzzers
K Reid                      Gardenstown         18 fish         yellow dancer and bloodworm
N Thomson              Turriff                      18 fish           buzzers
