Hi Bracken sometimes the most obvious solution is overlooked I have a single burner gas stove similar to http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/shop/stoves-and-lanterns/camping-stoves/single-burner-portable-stove-228557.html I purchased from an end of season B&Q sale when they were on sale £4 I think. I bought it thinking it might come in useful I can now justify this purchase and the gas canisters to the the boss. Wish I'd thought of that sooner .

You can pick these up fairly cheap from suprer markets as well.
