« on: 23/01/2011 at 22:55 »
A mutual friend of mine from Westhills called me today to say Stan the Man (one of this guys best mates) was on Mastermind last week and it was available in the BBC i player, so a wee search tonight and there he was, specialist subject Prehistoric Orkney.

Must say fair play to the guy and he certainly knew his stuff and i'll not give the result away, you'll have to watch for yourself.  But i certainly couldn't have done it, gaun yersel Stan :z16

Sounds like a formidable pairing for the Gathering Quiz Night  :z4 Given yer specialist subject is 'How to Catch Scottish Wild Broon Troot in Assynt' then we're aw safe. :z4

Hi Allan,
Aye Stan did well although I told him he took too long on the general knowledge questions. If he has past the few he swithered on, he would have made it, mind you he was more interested in the birds around him, lol!!
The man has a superb knowledge of Orkney's history.
Speak to you soon, I know a loch where a 8lb brown (wild) is average....not kidding!!
