Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

Brian Brand

The Annual March to the River Don at Inverurie is to be held on Saturday 17th February leaving the Kintore Arms Hotel in the High Street at 9:30am.

This is organised by Inverurie Angling Association but there is an open invitation to all.

The March goes down to the River at the Bridge where our local Minister will bless the River for the forthcoming year, you can even have a dram if you wish.

It is a great chance to meet up with some like minded fellow fishers.

Attached is a link to some of the previous Marches:

Hope to see you there,
Regards,
Bri.

Hi Brian

Thanks for posting the details for this year's opening ceremony  :z16

We all fought hard to keep this tradition going ......... and it would certainly be great to see a few new faces from throughout the River Don system coming along to join in.

Trout fishers are welcome to celebrate the opening of the river too remember ...... so come along and support the event.

Best wishes
Mike Barrio

Jay,

We will be leaving the KA at 9:30am so approx 5 minutes past that, but with a Piper leading the march I am sure you will hear us before you see us.

Regards,
Bri.
Are you sure that Rod would not give you half an hour off.

I was at  last years march and was surprised just how little support is received from Inverurie  anglers. I will make it again if I can.

I'll be there on Saturday

Planning to go and try the river down a Parkhill , to see if there are any fresh fish on the go.  Hopefully the Minister will pour enough whisky into the river to warm up any fresh fish downstream!!

Also noticed the "March to the Don" is advertised on the ADAA forum. Hopefully get a good crowd.
