Delgatie Castle Fishing Report w/e 30/10/10
« on: 31/10/2010 at 18:10 »
Thanks goodness that October has now gone and we can look forward to a more settled Winter fishing period. October was very mixed with the weather - wind and rainfall contributing to sporadic fishing. Some days good, others not so good and we finished the month with coloured water which we attributed to the "tattie picking" season when any rainfall on bare earth leads to dirt leaching into our feeder streams.
We have, however, still managed a creditable performance this week with Sandy Anderson from Peterhead landing 20 fish on an olive lure, fished on a sinking line. James Abel from Fraserburgh netted 17 fish on a variety of tackle from Blobs to Buzzers and Terry Novak from Turriff had 10 fish on his outing using a bloodworm. Billy Gray from Largue had 9 fish for his session. Norman Thomson from Turriff also landed a nice 8lb specimen.
Last week we spoke about a Winter league and the format has been finalised with several anglers already expressing interest. Entry forms will be available at the fishery from this week or to receive a copy phone Bob on 07980 999006.
Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water which offers bank or boat fishing and where juniors and learners are always welcome.
Boats, rods and all tackle is available for hire. Booking nor necessary.
