When it's time to go home!

We all get older but not wiser.   :z6

Today when I left Haddo I went past the Ythan and as the river was clearing I decided to wet a line.

No fish I am afraid but I nailed a finger with a stoats tail double!   :cry :cry

It was a really stupid move, it had just got grey dark and i was having the last few casts when I hooked a tree.  being vertically challenged i could not reach the fly with the branch pulled down and me at full stretch.  So i jumped and grabbed the branch and the fly stayed in the branch and my finger.  Dilemma........  I managed to snap the branch with my other hand and drove home with the fly firmly in my finger.

I managed to get it out after about 15 minutes, never made too much of a mess and a few beers has helped to square it up.

My lesson for tonight, go home when it gets dark, de-barb hooks and leave flies above reach in the tree!  :z6
