I would have thought the water would be fairly low.

Was hoping this rain would hang around and lift the levels.
Work mate saw a guy taking 2 salmon from the don on Monday afternoon and that was before the rain.

Went out for a couple of hours today with the spinning rod and some worms :oops.

Water was low as expected, couldn't believe how much brownies there was shame they were only bout 4/5 inches long the water was moving with them in some places, great just to watch them rising.

Pity I didn't find their bigger relatives.

Had a good day weather was great what more could you ask for.

It is on the YAA water, don't know about the others though.

I fished the Ythan today.

Used a size 12 double (stoats tail I think) on the 5wt as the river is small.  Hooked a salmon on my second cast and it took off like a bullet.  Was on for about 30 seconds and spat the fly out onto a bed of weed  :mad :mad

I fished for about two hours after that and got a few good pulls but also got a brownie of about 1lb.  I have fished the Ythan for brownies for the last few months and have found decent ones few and far between.  Its wierd when I have not targeted them that I catch the best one I have had on this stretch.

I have no pictures as the phone was left in the car.  :cry

I will be back on Saturday as I am off to Birmingham tomorrow.
