Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

At last, this is the first week that the surface fishing has overtaken lures in numbers. Having said that, our lure catches have not dropped but our surface activity has increased "dramatically". Since taking over in February, this has been our best week both in fish numbers and, more importantly, in angler numbers.
We have fought hard and succeeded in keeping the weed at bay although this is an ongoing battle.
Some of the best fish this week have fallen to:

R Donald       Macduff         9.5lbs
P Gray          Turriff            9.5lbs
M James       Lancaster       10lbs
J Abel           Frasrburgh     10lbs
L Davidson    Macduff          10.25lbs

and some of the better recorded number were:

P Gray          Turriff            11
R Donald       Macduff         13
M James       Lancaster       10
W Gow         Peterhead       9
J Noble         Fraserburgh    9
A Johnston    Inverness       9

Most anglers enjoyed at least one fish in the 4-6lb range. Care must now be taken to ensure the safe release of catches by reviving fish if necessary to a stable, upright position before finally letting go.

Delgatie Castle is now a Troutmaster water with all youngsters and beginners welcome.
Tackle and boats for hire.
