Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

Another week with variable weather. Heavy showers, wind, variable temperature but yet some excellent fishing. The heavy rain led to slightly coloured water but did not deter the fish from taking.
Some nice bigger fish were landed including;

P Gray         Turriff            12.5lb
D Crawford   Fraserburgh    12.5lb
N Thomson   Turriff            12lb
N Wood        Macduff         12lb

Lures (Nomad, Cat's Whisker, Bunny Leech and Cormorant) were responsible for the most fish but the dry fly (mainly Daddies and CDC) with suspended Buzzers gave excellent fun during the evening sessions. Some creditable numbers were recorded including;

R Donald     Macduff          17 fish
P Gray        Turriff            16 fish
A Gibson     Gardenstown   9 fish
M Pirie        Cairnbulg        8 fish

The blue Trout have really enjoyed the dry fly presentation and have taken well and, of course, fought courageously.
Most anglers have managed one or two brownies in the half pound range all of whom have been returned safely.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is now a Troutmaster water and all anglers are welcome, including beginners.
Boats, rods and tackle available for hire and the fishery offers "fish tickets" or "catch and release". Gift vouchers available.
