After a week long absence I had to get out yesterday evening so being a Sunday I visited one of the few places affording Brown Trout fishing. Fearing the worst after the last few days of rain I was pleasantly surprised on seeing the tributary in question was, although coloured, still well fishable.
I opted for a size 14 PTN with a gold head & Greenwells Spider chaser. It became apparent that the fish were holding under the banks and a concerted effort to drop the nymph as close to the opposite bank produced some nice sport on the 2wt outfit.

Had a few fish of this caliber which were a joy

And was lucky enough to land this 1lb'er

Roll on the next outing.
