Has the weather settled at last? A noted increase in temperatures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday saw increased activity both in the number of anglers and more importantly in the number of fish landed. Most of the catches fell to various lures including; Cat's Whiskers, WSW and Yellow Dancer although from mid week various Buzzers became more productive and finally on Saturday/Sunday the success of dry flys became more obvious.
Amongst the leading catches this week were:
B Cresswell MacDuff 11 fish including a 6.5 and 7lb
S Anderson Peterhead 9 fish to 3lb
R Birnie Fraserburgh 7 fish to 4.5lb
P Gray Turriff 18 fish to 6lb
P Conlane Mintlaw 9 fish to 3.5lb
S Smith Aberdeen 10 fish to 5lb
We are pleased to see the response from anglers who have enjoyed the re-introduction of "fish tickets" and are delighted to see so many fish leave the premises in "polythene bags".
We are looking forward to an exciting season and hope the weather has now settled. Many thanks to all our "returning" anglers.
