Delgatie Fishing Report 04/04/10
« on: 05/04/2010 at 08:54 »
Mixed week of weather, been fighting rising water midweek with heavy rain and melting snow causing water levels to rise to a dangerous level. Managed to control with all outlets opened.
Reasonably good fishing towards the weekend with a record for Scott McLean of 26 fish up to 5lb landed from an orange lure.
The fishery record for a brown trout had been 2.5lbs until about noon on Saturday when Bob Ross netted a beautiful 4.5lb only to lose his new record 2 hours later when M James from Lancaster landed a magnificent 6lb fish.
Anglers from afar afield as Cambridge, Lancaster, Bolton and Southern Ireland enjoyed steady fishing and over 30 fish in the 4-5lb size was netted for the four days that fishing was available.
Water levels and colour have now returned to normal and, weather permitting, we look forward to a settled week with fish being attracted mainly to dry and wet fly near the surface.

Hi,
Wow. That's a couple of big brownies. Were these fish stocked or are they natural to the water ?
Paul.

Hi Paul

The brown trout are natural to the pond. All others are stocked.
