Line weight on a windy day

I was wondering on your thoughts of which line weight to use on a windy day?

Do you,

1. Use a heavey line to use the extra weight to help force it through the wind  :?
2. Use a lighter weight with less surface area to catch the wind and cut through it  :?

Depends.......
I will sometimes go up from a 4wt to a 5wt line (on a 4wt rod which can deal with it) when loch fishing, but that's more about control across the wind rather than into the teeth of it.

Short cast, short leader, one or two flies, tilt casting arc forward a wee bitty, haul on the forward cast to turn over.
