Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

Kevin Moss

Thankfully the weather was kind for the Snowbee Challenge singles and it was a great days fishing for all who saw plenty of fish caught.Nearly all had their fish to weigh in and the rules which worked out well meant everyone was in with a shout and it made it even more interesting.Fishing was consistant throughout even into the afternoon sessions and had plenty rods bending. The final outcome was in 1st place Stevie Wright with 3 for 24lbs,2nd brian Murdoch with 3 for 21lb 12ozs and 3rd Glen mcHattie with 3 for 21lbs 6ozs.marc Moss collected £100 for a tagged fish as did John Anderson snr from Ayr.Plenty of good fish were caught with the best at 8lbs 4 by Stevie wright,Chris Boyle had a 7lb 14oz,grahme Hartley a 7lb 3oz,Dave Taylor a 6lb 2ozs fish and Brian Murdoch a 5lb 5ozs fish. The doubles eluded all and live to fight another day which gives promise for visitors in the coming days and week.On the coarse side Zander Christie had a beauty of a Carp which tipped the scales at 25lbs 3ozs and is the heaviest to date for the coarse loch.matthew West had a good bag of 21 fish of Carp, ide, bream upto 3lbs 8ozs.The loch is fishing really well,

Went along to this as my first competition and have to say it was a great day. Really well organised and friendly.
Thanks and well done.
