You should always expect the unexpected in fly fishing and it proved that in fishing this week.bright sunshine shoulnt see fish taking dry flys vividly off the top but more down deeper on nymphs and lures, but the dry fly has been tops all week and for months and despite sunshine and high waves at times making sport excellent.Constant catches throughout the day and only now and again quiet but not for long.Buzzers,CDc,s shipmans buzzers, spiders and small ginger dries have worked very well.13 yr old,Tyler Hay had 20 fish with a beauty at 7lbs 4ozs and for one so young did very well on what should be a difficult day and using Buzzers to add the cream to it.Sean Cowan had 34 fish with 2 over 6lbs and 3 over 5lbs,Gordy McKay had 20,brother Dennis had 18,D Reid had 20,Gordon Addison had 33,S Urquart had 20,R Ewing had 25 on 18 was a host of anglers,D McPherson,Les Aitken,J Eddie,G Anderson,,P Green had 22,P Bieske had 12,D Leitch had 15,and On 11 fish was Mark Lee,Mark Morrison, mark tate,S Boyd.A Noble had 16 and T Anderson had a 5lb 2ozs fish. The Coarse loch has fished pretty well also with some nice fish being caught,J Sutherland had a carp of 14lbs and there was a very big carp lost at the net also.A good selection being caught on sweetcorn and maggot.key is not to over groundbait as they just get fat and wont feed on what you have your hook bait on. next Compy is on Sunday being the "Charity Help The Heroes"All are welcome and it starts at 9am finishing at 4pm when the Raffles will be drawn and some excellent prizes are to be won from very kind donations.A accuracy casting compy will follow also to add to the fun after the raffle. All in aid of a worthy cause and even if you dont like competitions its will be a good day out for all.Places are getting limited so names sooner rather than later and you dont need to be a hardend comp angler to enjoy the day out.All are welcome.
