I never learnt to much about history when i was younger but as i get older i appreciate more and more about what legendary scots did before my time.
After googling The Black Douglas, i had a very enjoyable read!

Aye its great you can come one here and get educated Baz   :wink

MY old man loved Scottish history , I was brought up on tales of Bruce, Wallace, Randolph and Douglas. They even used to teach it in schools !

Are you a Border Riever Dave ? where you you fish.

I think everyone wishes they listened more at school Jim once they get older and wiser but your a lucky chap having a good story teller  :wink

I actually think it would be good to have an introductory thread where every forum member said a wee piece, its nice to know who shares the same intrests, flytying and what type of fishing they enjoy and where they doit. This might intrest other forum members who just surf the site to come forward and post more when they realise the share the same intrests as other members  :?

Hi Jim

Sadly i am not a Border Riever, which is a shame as you guys seem to have all the best water up there

I regret to say that i am a southern softie and hope you wont hold this against me  :z4

The waters i get to fish most are the Box Brook near Bath, the Little Avon at Berkeley, Gloucs
& the Salisbury and district club waters

I also get to make the occasional foray into Wales to fish the Usk town water which has to be my favourite place to while away a few hours

All the best

Dave
