Chaps,
I have a friend who has recently moved into Sauchen and he was wondering if the burn that runs into the Don holds many trout and if a permit was required to fish it.
Myself i have no idea and am merely a messenger, but any info would be great thanks  :z18

There are a couple of burns, one heading east and into the Loch of Skene (very narrow, overgrown and I have yet to see a trout in it above 4-6 inches) or the one that runs through Cluny Estate. I have fished that one a few times with permission of the late laird with no joy at all..but there are Brownies in there. It fluctuates in height wildly with rain and is pretty much a drainage ditch rather than a trout burn. It drains the bog on the estate. It eventually joins the Don between Kemney and Monymusk.

I understand that it would come under the Don Protection order and therefore written permission would be needed.

Hope that helps a little??
