I've noticed that on some other sites people are obssessed with distance.

As we are all slightly more cultured and subtle individuals, why dont we organise the next casting day to contain an accuracy competition.

We could put several hoops of varying sizes at various distances and then see who can hit them consistantley.
If we get to choose our own rod and line set up, then perhaps we can all learn stuff from each other as regards the advantages of different styles of leader and fly lines, and the subtlties of different styles of rod.
As well as perhaps honing some of the necessary skills for the coming season.
most people seem to be having fun trying this on the Flysim program , so lets try it for real.

very good idea accuracy always more important than distance. remember when you are trying to cast to the far bank the guy on the other side is doing the same

Sandy,
Oddly enough Mr B and I had exactly the same discussion just yesterday.
I'm all for it, and it would be useful to get a bit of river to exercise the very same techniques out on another forum outing...... that gives me an idea
