It seems you had a nice walk and a good “party” at Don. :z16
Yesterday I had my own march in my home town, to River Gavle. Unfortunately there were no pipes and no celebration.
The stretch, from the sea up to the power station is only about 2 km.
No fish were taken as far as I know.

Still waiting to get some photos but attached is the link to one the photos in the P&J site.

Thanks for that Brian :z16

There is a good piece and photo on page 3 of today's Press and Journal newspaper, with the minister, Mark and Paul in the photo and Jim & David in the background. Good to see the Don in the papers

Best wishes

Hey folks,

good to see a few folk turned out for the march!

slightly off topic, but...

at what point on the map of the beat can you park and gain access to the river (at the top of the beat)??

cheers

There is a lay-by up besides no.3 and one opposite ardtannes farm.

The fishing hut beside the road on the map :z6 is actually the best of the carparks, and encourages you to walk up through some good water to get to the top :z16.
The hut is actually down by the river and can be seen from the carpark :wink

Having a look at the map No9 should be the `Port Dooker' and not `Cooker' and should be up from the new bypass bridge, just down from the Rays.

In case you don't know what a Dooker is, it is somewhere you went for a Dook, hope this helps.

As Sandy has said above the car park is above the Rays Hut and there is also one  above from the Boat pool, but as they are passing places (they have been extended though) I am never 100% sure that we should be parking in them. Latterly I used to leave my car in Upperboat Road, beside the bridge, and just walked up the beat.

There should be a new car park built for walkers & fishers beside the new houses, at the other side of the bypass from the Hospital, but I have never been down there this season to see if it is there yet.

Regards,
Bri.

I see "Mr Goolager" got his photo in all the papers, Monday's P&J and now the Inverurie Advertiser and the Inverurie Herald :z4  :z4  :z4

Not that he's good looking or anything ....... he's just the "Bairn's Dad" :z7

Great stuff :z16
Cheers
