A weekend of calm weather didnít make for ideal fishing conditions and for most anglers the loch didnít fish well but when the weather was more active during the week things were different and some anglers had good bags to report. Lures fished on intermediate lines or bloodworm and buzzers fished slowly from a floating line are the two dominant methods in winter and it was these methods that were producing the best bags.
Buckie angler J Rennie used both methods to firstly land a bag of 10 to 3lb and then a bag of 22 with a fish of 8lb and a couple at 6lb.
Young K Simpson done well from the boats to produce a bag of 18 to 3.8lb, taken on lures, A Anderson bagged 14 over two sessions with his best being 3lb while A Hay landed 10 on buzzers with a fish of 7.8lb his best.
Turriff angler N Paterson boated 10 to 3lb on bloodworm and a yellow dancer while P Adam banked 9 to 8lb on lures. P Lyon also bagged 9 on lures with a fish of 3.8lb his best while B Creswell banked 8 to 7.8lb on lures. G Sutherland landed 8 on buzzers with a fish of 4.8lb his best while Aberdeen angler M Laing bagged 7 to 5.8lb on a w.s.w. Turriff angler L Stewart bagged a fish of 9lb in his bag of 7 while another Turriff angler, young Scot Clark landed fish of 9lb and 10.8lb in his bag of 4.
