It seems I've run out of Pheasant tail  :shock As there wasn't any readily available from my prefered source (road kill) I've had a frankenstein moment at the vice, once the heads are dried will be in the post Monday  :cool:

Fly that's coming is hares eary/montana-hybridy-type-"thing". But I use it, so everyone else can now too  :grin

3-5 I would say, would be normal.

Baz,

I guess that you can overdo it but you'd really have to be silly. I usually use 4 -5 fibres and they look and work fine. Also I guess it looks, from an anglers perspective, better when the tails have a slight 'spread' if you get my drift.
