Autumn tour
« on: 02/10/2008 at 18:40 »
Hi

Last weeks fly fishing tour up to county Norrbotten here in Sweden were a little bit disappointed.
Most days were cloudy with some sun; unfortunately a cold breeze drew down the river.  We didn’t se many flies on the surface, just a few caddis and small stoneflies.
The evenings were quite “cold” so we stayed in the house and after dinner we had a fire in the stove.
With a glass of… the colour is amber and has a smoky finish, but too much, gives a headache. :z13

What is the Bamboo Harri?

I can see it is a 7' 6", but what make and weight? I love the action of a good cane rod, they are so much fun to fish with

Best wishes

Nice photos Harri

I think that photo's always enhance a post/ topic and since the forum has a wide catchment perhaps more pictures of fishing beats, locations (which may seem 'run of the mill' to us) might give pleasure and interest to 'non-locals'

Thanks again Harri

Mike, I agree with you about the bamboo.

7´6 is #4 by a Swedish rod maker, Ulf Löfdal and the other is 8´#5 3 sec. by another Swedish rod maker, Leif Persson.  I bought both as used rods, as the 3: rd owner.
My absolute favourite rod is by another Swedish rod maker, Kenneth Boström. A rod called Rackelhane 9´6 #4-6 3 sec. with the top and middle of graphite and the bottom section of bamboo. It is slow with full flex action.

Hi Paul,

The fish is in the river.  :grin   I don’t think you will read my standard excuses.  :z4
You have right about the website and the rod. Kenneth Boström is also author too the fly, Rackelhannen. http://www.rackelhanen.com/eng/10019.htm.
