Rumour # 1
I work at Aberdeen Watersports. Heard this from 2 tackle shops in the area! I catagorically state that I DO NOT work in Aberdeen Watersports!

Rumour # 2
This one hurts!!...I was caught fishing for Pike on the Lake of Menteith and banned for life!! I was infact part of a group of 16 from the Pike Fly Fishing Association who where invited by Quinten to fish 2 evening sessions to see if and how many Pike could be caught purposfully on the fly. (Story in this months FF&FT Magazine) ( http://www.pffa.co.uk/menteithimages2008.htm) . I was not poaching, I have not been banned and I was lucky enough to be partnered by a chap called Robbie from up this way and between us we managed around 20 fish to 14+ pounds, all legitamatly on the fly.

I must admit I had not heard that one! I wonder where it came from?

It seems to me in angling when fishing is quiet we make up stories to keep us occupied & entertained. This one is particularly fun in that Aberdeen Watersports only employs scuba divers, and I have 16 of these on my books at the moment and really do not need any more. Other parts to the Group are specialist scuba companies, covering training, travel and servicing, again, no one called Rob working in these. Claymore Paintball similarly does not employ Rob.

Aberdeen Fieldsports, our Hunting, Shooting and Fishing company has only 2 staff, but this is quite enough at the moment, as when busy we can pull an AWS staff member over to assist. We will however be looking to take another staff member on, probably next spring.

So, sorry to disappoint but Rob is quite correct, has does not and never has worked for Aberdeen Watersports or Fieldsports.

Hamish,
Did I catch anything?...thats what the picture iis about!..lol..its a fish..i caught it, along with a few others.. :z7..and the smallest pike in Menteith!

Oh, and the scares on my 14 pounder are teeth marks from a spawning encounter. Menteith has produced Pike to a fraction under 40 pounds so my 14 was lucky to be in one piece!.
