I was just wondering what trout do in a stillwater, do they have a certain place they always return to (home) or do they just roam around forever.

Say you caught a fish in a location would you catch the same fish in that location a few days later?

Generally, in a river trout will have a "lie" the current will bring the food to them , in a stillwater trout will have to move to find their food.

So we would assume that they just roam around all the time then the don't have a place they would class as home?

In general Dave yes , but they are likely to be in certain places , inlet burn , weed bed , under overhanging tree's bushes windward shore , any where there is likely to be food.

Well i guess if they're on the move all the time looking for food they don't have much time to stop as they're using most they're energy looking for food (energy) vicious circle really.
