Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

Just wondered if anyone would like to share some good places out the back of beyond that are worth fishing.
Fished various Hill lochs up the back of loch muik near ballater and a couple of others behind loch lee in glen esk but running out of venues quickly.

Any other good places iam missing out on or do things like this stay quiet?

Thanks
Baz.

Loch Beannie , which is about half way up Glen Shee and the a 45 minute walk into the hills is a craking loch to fish. Fished it last year and had 6 fish from 3/4 to 1-1/2lb, another trip planned in June.

Where are you parking! Half way up to the car park? Or do you park at the ski ing car park and cut accross?

Jim Eddie

Bigtroot , no you park at Iveredrie croft , thats where you get the permits ,  its a 45 minute walk in from there, they also do B & B which I have booked when I fish it in June , its to much time wasted driving to do from Peterhead, 5 hour round trip or worse if you try to get across Aberdeen in the rush hour.

Baz - how far do you want to travel :? Plenty of choice out there as you know but might be able to make some other fishing suggestions based on that information :z17

Hamish,
I do a fair bit of walking and camping so there is no limit of how far away it is so feel free to suggest away. Preferably in this area and not Skye and the highlands though.
Thanks

Bigtroot

Here is the croft where you can park and get your permits , They will also give you the key to the boathouse , although I beleive the boathouse is no more as it was blown away in one of the Winter storms.
Its no a bad loch to fish from the bank though. Although watch yourself at the bottom end where the burn runs out , waist deep peat  :!
