Do any of you have any experience of travelling overseas with fishing gear?  If so, how did you transport the rods and were there any problems?

Only a short trip up to Shetland, rods in a gutter pipe sealed at either end. (check the pipe isn't being used first of course  :z7) Not exactly the most asthetically pleasing but did the job!  :z16

Hi Mike

I have just taken two travel rods to Tasmania in one original tube, they both fitted in nicely. I did take them in my carry on luggage just in case but no problems. They were inspected at Heathrow but only to confirm they were rods.
You can have problems getting them into Australia but if you follow their rules available on their goverment websire & allow them to dip the cork handles you have no problems at all. :z16
