i live on belfast lough,were the 6 mile water runs into,. near carrickfergus.im wanting to flyfish for mullet as hundreds of these fish enter the river in sumertime each year,what gear and flies will i require.and what are the best methods to use,im bustin to try this.help.

I believe that Mullet are notoriously difficult to catch on the fly. I have never fished for them myself , but I saw a fishing programme on SKY where the ground baited with bread and the cast out a "bread fly" and had some success.

5 or 6 weight outfit, floating line, and a Sawyers Killer Bug. It represents a maggot, which the Mullet feed on as the tide covers up the sea wed (where maggots are wriggling) You only need to cast a few yards out.

Mikes suggestion of bread qand "bread" fly..basically a bit of white marabou, is great if they are in a harbour:)
