Fishery Events?

Now that the "Grampian League" appears to have been dropped ......... What sort of events would folk like to see being held at our local fisheries?

Perhaps none, perhaps you would simply like to enjoy the relaxing side of our sport :?

Best wishes

Dunno Hamish ...... it just "fizzled out" after last year's one :z8

There has been no word of it this year and I'm told there is no interest in continuing .......

My reason for asking ..... is I might consider attempting to put together some type of event or competition with other fisheries on the forum, or the fisheries listed on the main site, if anglers and the other fisheries were interested?

Possibly an open event ...... possibly a forum member event? :z8

And on a serious note ;)

I am not a compatition angler as i prefer to fish for fun rather than financial gain, BUT, I would be keen to attend events such as "Bring a friend fishing" to encourage newbies into the sport etc etc.

Some kind of forum competition would be great,

Means we'd be able to put faces to names and have a few beers after as well,

Would this be a travelling competition around different fisheries?, if so where would we like to go?

It could include bonus points for wild fish catches as well on places like the Don etc......catch and release of course....

What do you think?

Sounds good "skidd" ........ But would we like competitions or would we prefer gatherings?  :z8

i like the idea of gatherings rather than competitions.  here's a random idea for a float tube day out -- every angler puts a favourite fly into a pot.  each angler then draws a fly at random, and has to fish with it for the next hour... could be an interesting way to force us all to think about presentation, technique etc

i seem to remember mike talking about it's a knock out style float-tube racing too... could disturb the fish a bit..
