This report covers the period over the festive season and up to Saturday 7/1/17. The weather during this period was mixed with mild conditions prevailing but interspersed with fairly severe night frosts and very windy conditions for several days. However some successful fishing was enjoyed with the fish still cruising at high levels and responding well to buzzers although the majority of catches succumbed to slowly retrieved lures at deeper levels.
The best recorded catches over the period fell to; A Murray, Gardenstown, 31 fish, (black fritz), K Maddocks, Aberdeen, 17 fish, (pink bunny leech), K Fraser, Greeness, 16 fish, (pink minkie), F McAulay, Dyce, 15 fish, (WSW), N Garden, Newmachar, 14 fish, (WSW), W Grey, Largue, 13 fish, (buzzers), G Ellington, Ellon, 9 fish, (white buzzer), A Birnie, Ellon, 7 fish, (yellow dancer), N Thomson, Turriff, 7 fish, (buzzers), S Sim, Ellon, 6 fish, (olive WSW).
