Ahh ..... you're overseas Jim :z7

We are being treated to a great programme on the TV about the Polar regions by David Attenborough and his team.

See http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00zj1q5/Frozen_Planet_To_the_Ends_of_the_Earth/ or google "Frozen Planet".

I know it is not fishing, but it is about the great outdoors :wink

The series helps to remind you why we don't want wolves in this country :wink

Didn't some muppet want to introduce them again?

Great series until Attenburgh started that global warming pish. :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad
America isn't showing the last episode because it's too one sided. From the land that gave us An Inconvenient Truth no less. Must be pretty far to the side.

The wolf section was ace, and who would miss a few tourists? I for one think that there's too many Roe deer around here and a couple of wolf pack might save my car! :z4

The shots of Orcas were breathtaking, as were the polar bears (up over 20 thousand since the 1950's btw)

Shame that a publicly funded organization can't just show how life is at the very poles without giving us the "message".
I don't want to start a "it's warming it's not" argument because that would be tedious for those not interested. Anyone who wants to start one can see me in the pub.  :z18

All of them!
He made liitle remarks about melting ice being caused by humans in all the ones so far.
The last one is his thoughts on how floating ice will flood the planet...
Never mind , there always time for some slo-mo shots of what glaciers do every day, awesome!  :z16

Totally agree, the filming throughout the episodes was awesome!

I'm not surprised by the fact that I missed "the messages", we are bombarded by so much of that nowadays that I'm fairly certain that my brain has developed some kind of 'skip that bit' auto mode :wink

Unfortunately my OCD lets me hear every one  :z10
The other thing I now do sub consciously is snigger every time I hear the word "unprecedented"!  :z4 :z4 :z4 :z4 :z4 :z4

It is our media these days that have to make everything bigger, badder, worser (yeah, that's a word in my house  :z7).
I'm sure you latest prototype line will cast an unprecedented (snigger) distance  :wink

I'm making a mental note of all the things that grip your s*** Euan.

Just incase I find myself drifting about with you in a boat and require amusement.  :X2 :grin

Iain,
I can assure you that that climate change is the one thing you don't want to bring up in a boat. Not because I'll get wound up for your amusement, but you will get the "lecture" on what is happening and not what the press say is happening. You may go over the side to save yourself!  :z4

Oh and remember how calm I was when I lost that fish at Haddo with you in the boat? I'm like an electric clock... :grin

I still say that a day in a boat somewhere would be a good idea though  :z16
