I'm trying to minimalise so I am selling another toy that sits and doesn't see as much use as it should.
Its bloody good fun though.

Sage SPL 080. 3 piece 8ft "0"wt fly rod.
Ultra light, original sage built, with bag and tube, perfect condition.
Will sell with Sage quiet taper 0wt flyline, also in very good condition.

Have a bloody good laugh with a serious fishing toy, that has caught fish up to 6lbs with ease, small flies only though.

£125

It can be tested at Haddo, just give me a pm if you fancy a serious cast or two.

I have a loop Midge fly reel that balances the rod better than anything else
I would sell the lot for £200 as an outfit.

How small of flies are we talking here?
Would you get away with 2 16's or is it just for small dries?

Anything from a 12 down the rod deals with fine, the smaller the better.
I have fished it with a size 12 bead head damsel just out of curiosity and it managed fine with that.
Its obviously designed for 16-28 size dries. Its the line thats the limiting factor, it doesn't turn over bulky flies, but any small dry/nymph is perfect.
The best idea would be to give it a try.
But for size 16's i would say , no probs.

My son's a former guide living in Colorado and loves Sage rods. My self I use bamboo but it might be fun to get him a rod for his upcoming birthday...........Would you ship to the USA ?

I would consider it, but i would imagine the shipping would be fairly steep?
However at this precise moment Baz "bigtroot" has a firm interest in the rod and is going to try it out after the festive period.
If he finds it unsuitable for his purposes then i'll contact you again, if thats OK. :z16

Thanks for the note.... I'll keep my eyes open for another deal.
There like buses another will be along anytime now.

I'm sure after the Bigtroot gives it a try it will be heading home with him.

After finding the firts day of the new year with no gale force winds i managed to christen your old rod to a fine selection of trout yesterday. The first time i hooked one i thought the rod was away to snap but it held its ground well. Overall a happy customer, Thanks.
