It's been a good while since I've visited the vice, back to Haddo days when I think about it.
I think I may need a little practice *smiley-grin* ...... it'll do as a kind of Sedge pattern I guess :X1

i quite like that.....

It started off as an F Fly James, then I added a soft hackle as legs.
I had a basic plan in my head, I just couldn't see what I was doing *smiley-lol*

Definitely looks like a fish catcher, nice.

Looks shrimpy....would work equally as well as a wet flee, :-)

And isn't it funny how a fly can look quite tidy in your hand, BUT when you take a photo you see all the imperfections! :z8

Hmmm ..... another shot at getting back into tying tonight with a few CDC in #14.
I can see that my tired eyes are going to prove somewhat challenging *smiley-grin*

inspired by your posting i saw a fly in a magazine called delightfully a 'grunter' which is CDC with a wound hackle of partridge and ginger cock so i gave it a try.
cameras on phones these days have amazing zoom....

'grunter' ..... I like it :)
I think I'd prefer it with the CDC tied in F-fly style behind the hackle, but these things are down to personal preferences and confidence of course and I'm sure it'll work that way too :z16
