Title: Brown trout season
Post by: James Laraway on 28/08/2020 at 09:15
So, the nights are drawing in and evening fishing is pretty much out of the window....

question for contributors.......

what is the Scotland wide, legal date for the end of the season ? Is it  6th Oct ?

I know lots of places finish up at the end of Sept , and this is up to the owner if they want to finish the season early- but if there is no 'owner'  is it 6th Oct ?

Legislation in Scotland states that the brown trout season runs from 15 March to 6 October.
There are some rivers/systems which restrict the season from 1 April to 30 September and obviously you have to be mindful of that but the official dates are as stated and it ends as you say on the 6 October.
