Down Lochter way last week there was a steady stream of customers looking for some reflective isolation from the current troubling affairs of the world. Indeed they were rewarded with some hard fighting fish being caught.
Rhys West used some of his own self tied very small nymphs to good effect with 19 fish being brought to the net.
Gordon McKay used a team of buzzers on an intermediate line and having quickly found the feeding depths he had 14 fish for his day’s session.
Bryan Ross eagerly also fished a team of buzzers in a stiff breeze and he was happy of his return of 13 fish for his 4 hour session.
Barry from Laurencekirk used a selection of lures including the cat’s whiskers and nomad to get 12 fish. Mike Stewart used the classic cormorant and diawl bach combination and it is still effective as he had 10 fish, the best being around the 7lb mark.
The dynamic duo of M and A McPherson were the model of consistency as they both had 10 fish each on either cormorants or okay dokays.
Jim Brown from Aberdeen used a selection of lures including the WSW to get his 9 fish, Martyn Cumming had 8 on buzzers and Fred McAlley from Aberdeen successfully used the bloodworm to get his 7 fish.
So all in all some normality from the turmoil of our current life.
