Title: Tying muddler heads
Post by: Stuart Cullen on 03/07/2019 at 14:29
Found a good way of holding back hackles so that a muddler head can be tied more neatly. Push a 4mm   pellet silicone bait band used for coarse fishing over the hackles to hold them down.  Then tie the muddler head and trim without disturbing the hackles. When finished simply slide the bait band down and round the curve to remove.

Just noticed this.
Trying to get the muddler body tidier. I just use scissors but there must be another way when you see how neat the shop bought ones are. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Bob.

Old fashioned razor blades are the thing to use. Some fly tying companies make tool to put them in to facilitate shaping deer hair heads.
