I'm just returning to fly fishing for river trout after a long break and everything's changed! I'm equipped with a variety of rods and reels that will cover most eventualities so I need advice on fly lines - does a DT5F still exist - and particularly leaders and tippets? I fish upstream dry fly and nymph or downstream wet according to conditions. Baffled by fluorocarbons and braided leaders pros and cons. Help?

Lots of very fine river anglers here to keep you right John :z16
My tuppence worth:
1. You can still buy a DT5, one of the better ones can be had from Mike when he has them back in stock: https://www.flylineshop.com/shop.html#!/Barrio-Mallard-DT-Fly-Lines/p/122985030/category=10329715
2. Think of Fluorocarbon and Copolymer tippet material as thinner more expensive nylon, the principles of tapered leader cosntruction haven't changed - but be careful with the knots :z17
3. I don't use braided leaders, although I see the advantage of the 'indicator' type for nymphing.
Enjoy :z16
