Title: some action from today
Post by: James Laraway on 10/03/2019 at 17:53
Popped out for 90 mins in what can only be described as 'testing Highland weather' - had an amazing time.

Caught 3 pike ( biggest about 14 or 15 lbs) and lost one.

One of the pike has a pike float in its mouth, and a trace down its throat.

So i removed the float and cut the wire. The pike was in amazing condition so was still clearly feeding despite having a float in its mouth ! Nature can be amazing

this is the float that was 100 % in the pikes mouth prior to removal...I'm amazed it survived never mind flourished .

I think it will do much better now i have removed it !

Had a brown trout about 1 1/2 lbs 2 years ago with a couple of feet of nylon trailing out its vent and a rusty hook in its its insides. Fish was in good health and ate well. Have seen 2 browns that were recently dead with a perch stuck in there mouths.
