Title: Loch Brandy
Post by: Ben Crichton on 28/06/2018 at 10:14
Hi folks,

We are having a wee break in sunny Montrose in August😂 Meeting up with the in laws etc. Was hoping me and the wife could ditch the son for a while and head to Loch Brandy. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with this loch, like where to obtain permission and tactics?

Any information would be appreciated!

Cheers in advance

Ben

Permits from Glen Clova Hotel  https://www.clova.com/adventures/fishing/ (https://www.clova.com/adventures/fishing/)

Beutiful clear water, trout are small but fiesty. I believe there are also Pike in this loch.

Robert,

Many thanks for the reply, I will check this out. I have Bruce Sandison's book but the permission part can be out dated!

Travel light, its a bit of a steep hike.

If the trout are not playing ball its worth throwing small streamers for the Pike. Nothing huge but sport when the trout are sun bathing.
