Title: Lochter Report - World Cup Updates For Anglers
Post by: Howard & Stuart on June 18, 2018, 11:41:48 AM
It is a pity that Scotland is not represented at the World Cup in Russia but there is still widespread interest in the matches. Thanks mainly to the job opportunities in the oil industry, in the leisure industry, in fishing and in farming, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire has become a truly cosmopolitan area.

At Lochter Fishery, Oldmeldrum a nice big TV has been installed in the anglers lodge so that fishers can keep up with the progress of their favourite teams.

Sandy Grey from Monymusk who has drawn Mexico in the office sweepstake and had virtually written off his chances, was “over the moon” when his side saw off Germany in the opening round.

Quite a few other anglers were “over the moon” during the past week for reasons connected with fishing, not football.

Davy Wood had a record breaking score, keeping three for his tea and releasing thirty eight, all tempted by WSW’s tied by the master, Walter Senior himself! Neil Garden was spot on with his humongous fly and fourteen nice trout paid the penalty. Angling buddies S. Baillie, L. Welsh and R. Farrell pitched in with three sparking performances, netting thirty-nine between them using a mix of traditional wet flies and buzzers.

There have been plenty of bags of six and seven and with the water temperature down to sixteen degrees the fish will remain active, which is good news for anglers.
