Title: first ice at pitfour
Post by: ANDREW BEBBINGTON on 02/12/2007 at 21:17
Hi Folks,

We saw the first proper ice today at pitfour :z10 the coarse water was completly frozen all day and the fly loch was more than 3/4 frozen with a good 1/2" of ice but a good bit defrosted as the day went on it does not seem so cold tonight so i imagine that the fly loch should be fishable tomorrow but it might be wise to call first if its been a cold night

Been out to the loch this morning to walk the dog and cure a slight sore head :z18 still a couple of inches of ice all over the loch so wont be reopening tomorrow unless it warms up a hell of a lot today which dont look likely.

Hi there is now about 1/3 of the loch thawed out not and we can reopen tomorrow provided that it stays mild and does not refreeze any (gritters are out tonight)
