Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 18/2/17
Post by: The Aul Troot on 19/02/2017 at 15:03
The past week has seen some unseasonably mild conditions with very little wind although overhead conditions have varied from bright sunshine to overcast with temperatures varying throughout the day. The variation has caused chaos with fish feeding habits with some anglers retrieving slow lures near the bottom whilst fish were breaking surface water at the same time. The more successful anglers were forced to change their fishing depth and end tackle continually throughout the day. The most success fell to the following anglers; S Wilson, Banff, 28 fish, (green/black fritz), P Keir, Fyvie, 20 fish, (black fritz), B Gibb, King Edward, 11 fish, (various lures), J Mckay, Macduff, 10 fish, (white fritz), K Fraser, Greeness, 9 fish, (nomad, buzzer, orange blob), A Murray, Gardenstown, 8 fish, (cat's whisker), K Maddocks, Aberdeen, 6 fish, (pink bunny leech), J Gorem, Stuartfield, 6 fish, (bloodworm, buzzer), N Thomson, Turriff, 5 fish, (buzzer, bloodworm).

The forecast for the coming week suggest a continuation of present conditions but becoming more unsettled from  mid week. Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery. Visitors and novices are always welcome. For up to date information phone Bob on 07980 999 006.
