Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 11/2/17
Post by: The Aul Troot on 12/02/2017 at 15:17
The past week has seen a continuation of the cold spell with variable wind conditions and directions. The adverse weather appeared to affect the anglers more than the fish as the hardier angler was still able to enjoy some good catches. The fish again were active at different levels according to temperature and light conditions but were responding quite well to Bloodworm and Buzzers as well as various lure presentations. The best recorded catches this week fell to; P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 16 fish, (black lure, cormorant), N Thomson, Turriff, 8 fish, (bloodworm), S Buchan, Turriff, 7 fish, (bloodworm, buzzers), J Dewar, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, (black lure), A Murray, Gardenstown, 6 fish, (black/green fritz), K Fraser, Greeness, 5 fish, (buzzer, orange blob).

The forecast for the coming week predicts a rise in temperature from mid week and it will be interesting to see the effects on fish feeding habits. Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery and up to date information on conditions can be had by phoning Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
