Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 10/12/16
Post by: The Aul Troot on 11/12/2016 at 12:52
The past week has been unseasonably mild, even night temperatures remaining high, and following on a period of sharp frosts and low water temperature the change appears to have upset the fish feeding patterns. During the week it was obvious that at times the fish were feeding deep and responding to slowly retrieved lures whilst at other times buzzers were proving attractive. Overall this lead to challenging conditions which tested the mettle of the angler to the fullest. The best recorded catches this week reflected the conditions with few anglers achieving notable catches, the best amongst them being; A Murray, Gardenstown, 12 fish, (black fritz), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 10 fish, (buzzers), J West, Fraserburgh, 5 fish, (various lures), K Maddocks, Aberdeen, 4 fish, (bunny leech).
The forecast for the coming week suggests a lowering of temperatures and hopefully heralds the return of more settled conditions.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am and booking is not necessary. The fishery will be open over the festive period apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Day. For up to date information and conditions phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
