Title: The Ness Today
Post by: Mike Barrio on 01/12/2016 at 20:03
The Ness District Salmon Fishery Board

Loch Ness acts to buffer the fall in water temperature on the River Ness during the winter months. This acts to delay/extend the salmon spawning period, giving us plenty of time to film their exploits!
As you will see from the footage below (filmed at Ness Castle Lodges today) the 'cock' salmon are not particularly active yet with spawning still to kick off. The trout on the other hand are still chasing and spawning.
Keep your eye out for the cheeky cormorant and hope you enjoy!
