I'm working away in the background updating pages on the website ........ If any of you have some nice photos of local trout fisheries that might be useful for the website, please post them here and I'll try to include them :z16

Aberdeenshire only Mr B :?

Good question Hamish :z16
I think the main website is probably best with a focus on Aberdeenshire? .... But I'm open to suggestions

I suggest casting as far as the forum members are located...... :z16 That's pretty much where things are on the forum anyway. Certainly it makes sense to update the Aberdeenshire main website pages as that remains the main thrust of that site, but if there's scope to do it there's no harm in extending the range a smidgen 'forum favourite waters' or something like that :z16
H

Thanks Hamish :z16
Are you suggesting that a gradual move in focus of the main website from Fishing The Fly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland ......... towards 'Fishing The Fly Scotland' would be a good idea?
I do like that idea  but I also agree that something along the lines of 'Forum Favourite Waters' is a good alternative without changing the main focus ........ Hmmm, but which is best?
Cheers

Yes John, we had a great weekend down at Munro's excellent fishery this year :z16
I think this is possibly Hamish's point.
Best wishes

Let's ask a different question ....... Which fisheries do you like fishing at folks?
If a friend asked you where to fish, which fisheries would you suggest?
For example:
Fisheries in Aberdeenshire
(1)
(2)
(3)
(4)
....... as many as you'd like to list.
Fisheries in Scotland
(1)
(2)
(3)
(4)
....... as many as you'd like to list.

- Fishing The Fly Scotland gets my vote :z16
- with this larger scale approach you could then have a clear and concise list of fisheries per region/shire within the country. just a thought :z16

The forum has certainly evolved over the years Marc :z16

Figured I might as well have a crack at this bit.
Fisheries in Aberdeenshire
(1) Haddo
(2) Glen Tanar
(3) Midmar
(4) Forgue
I know, there are some big 'names' in the trout fishery lists of Aberdeenshire that did not make my top 4 but, for various reasons, these are the 4 I like best.
Fisheries in Scotland
(1) Lintrathen
(2) Menteith
(3) Leven
(4) Achagour
These are waters that are or have been stocked - for me fisheries means that, waters that are stocked. Although I have never yet had a good day on Menteith I do like the place hugely.

Get my vote as well Mike, happy to help out if required.
Moray has some excellent fisheries and I've some recent photos of Mill of Kellas and Millbuies happy to visit Glen of Rothes and Wardend (even perhaps Artloch) and take some more pics if you'd need them?

OK Mike, I'm game :z4
Fisheries in Aberdeenshire
(1) Haddo
(2) Loch Saugh
(3) Artloch
(4) Lochter
....... as many as you'd like to list.
Fisheries in Scotland
(1) Loch Eye
(2) Loch Shin
(3) Loch Ruthven
(4) Loch Park
(5) Loch Beannie
(6) Lintrathen
(7) Loch Assynt
(8) Little Loch Awe
(9) Loch Beannich
(10) The whole of Assynt
(11) Loch Watten
(12) Loch More
I could go on but I think you get the picture. Where I live Lintrathen and the others down in Angus are easier to get to but my heart is in the Highlands, for salmon or trout, or pollock for that matter.
Fishing the fly in Scotland gets my vote :z16
An Aberdeenshire section and a rest of the world section sounds ace!

Great stuff Euan,
I don't think anybody can visit the Highlands without getting somewhat attached :z4
No need for sections, the forum has simply evolved into something a lot wider, posts like the saltwater ones being a good example ........ all of which is great
