Title: Delgatie Castle Fishing Report w/e 31/7/16
Post by: The Aul Troot on 01/08/2016 at 00:51
The weather this week has been much more amenable to angling with light winds and rainfall reduced to showers. Temperatures have remained moderate although the fish are still only feeding sporadically with good catches being recorded over short time periods followed by hours of dour fishing. Dry fly has again increased the contributions to catches at the expense of lures. Buzzers, crunchers and diawl bach have also sen good returns. Last Sunday saw a visit from Fraserburgh Angling Club and the outing netted sixty fish for the members. The best recorded catches this week fell to; A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 43 fish, (diawl bach, crunchers), A Gibson, Gardenstown, 36 fish, (cormorant), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 28 fish, (spiders), A Murray, Gardenstown, 27 fish, (white/black fritz), M McPherson, Lhanbryde, 11 fish, (hoppers), N Scowen, Keith, 11 fish, (buzzers), S Burness, Buckie, 9 fish, (daddy), J Dewar, Fraserburgh, 7 fish, (WSW, nymph), A McPherson, Lhanbryde, 6 fish, (hopper).
