Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 24/7/16
Post by: The Aul Troot on 24/07/2016 at 13:17
This week has seen the weather being the dominant factor with heavy downpours which caused havoc to keep water levels within our limits. The thundery conditions led to the fish switching on/off as showers approached and the main catches this week came form lower levels as the fish retreated with barometric pressure. The added problem was the severely coloured water resulting from rain water not being absorbed by the ground but running off into the water courses. Fortunately today (Sunday) sees the colour dissipating and hopefully it will return to normal in the next two to three days.

Due to the conditions anglers did not return big catches apart from A Murray, Gardenstown, (multiple visits) who landed 27 fish on a black fritz and white fritz. A Cowie from Fraserburgh landed 23 fish using crunchers and diawl bach and G Burnett from Fraserburgh caught 6 fish on an orange lure.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am til 9pm and visitors and novices are always welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery. For up to date information and conditions phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
